Sweet 16

A few weeks ago was my sweet 16th birthday. As ironic as it seemed, I had to spend it on the plane (at least it was flying back home! My friend had the flight attendent deliver me my birthday card on the plan, which I thought was really sweet). Last year for my birthday, I chose my birthday cake from Zoe, one of Hong Kong's most famous cake shops. This year, I decided to have a twist on my choice of  traditional birthday cakes. I chose to have cupcakes in replacement since they're getting more and more popular. In the end, after endless tasting sections, my mom and sister both agreed that Sift has the best cupcakes.

The neat cupcakes together with some colorful macarons.
We ordered 12 cupcakes with 6 different flavors, including Chocolate Raspberry, Hazelnut Chocolate Crunch, Salty Caramel Chocolate, Lemon, Strawberry and Red Velvet. Personally, I enjoyed the Strawberry cupcake most. It was light and not too sweet, yet also had a rich strawberry flavor in both the icing and the cake.
